Spreading 4 ounces of beef around the tortillas will give Big Mac tacos with oven-baked beef․ I sear beef patties and cheese-covered tortillas in a preheated cast iron pan at a high temperature․ I like softer tortillas․

I use 80/20 ground beef for this recipe and make four beef patties to place on the tortilla․ Press the patties almost completely flat on the tortillas‚ leaving a raised edge of raw beef․ Otherwise‚ the patties will curl up while cooking and form a ball shape rather than a patty․
I don't fill the pan with tacos but leave room for one or two tacos․ I press the raw side of each taco in the pan after adding it to the pan․ The patties are thin enough to fully cook within the listed time․ I add cheese to the top of each taco after flipping it to melt during cooking․
Add toppings‚ such as sauce‚ lettuce‚ onion‚ and three dill pickle slices‚ to each taco and serve right away․ I like cold toppings with hot beef and sauce drizzled over the burger‚ not spread into the tortilla․

Why you'll love this recipe
- The meat is grilled on tortillas to make thin‚ flat hamburgers for tacos․
- Preheat the cast iron pan until it's lightly smoking before adding tacos․
- Thin patties need 4 to 5 minutes to cook on one side before flipping․
- Adding cheese when you flip the sandwich lets the cheese melt for 1 or 2 minutes over the cooked beef․
- Each taco comes with toppings of sauce‚ lettuce‚ onion‚ and three pickle slices added at the table․
- You can cook one or two patties at a time in your large skillet․
